The Best of Natural Beauty 2016

And here we are on the last day of 2016. For many people 2016 hasn’t been a good year, but for me it’s really been one of the best. It was also the year that I chose to relaunch my blog as a natural beauty blog, and I’ve also been dabbling in fashion and lifestyle too. This change has seen me enjoy blogging much more, and it’s also given me the opportunity to try out new brands and products, and I’ve been lucky to find some really exciting ones.

For my New Years Eve post, I wanted to share with you the five natural products that have really stood out to me this year, and that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone. I also want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported The Lilly Mint Blog this year.  I have so many exciting things coming up next year which I can’t wait to share with you all!

The RMS Un-Cover Up has become a new favourite makeup product of mine, and it’s a product I reach for almost every day. It’s a coconut oil based cream concealer that can also be used as a foundation. It’s great at evening out the skin tone as well as concealing any blemishes. My skin seems to love this stuff, and I am planning to do a full review on this product asap

This year I have absolutely fallen in love with a brand of nail polish…. Sienna Byron Bay. This brand is non toxic and also doesn’t contain the common ingredient Benzophenone-1. The SBB polishes are absolutely stunning and last on the nails really well. The bottles are also beautiful with the unique wooden lid. I own quite a few shades now, so I have some reviews of each shade ready for ya’ll

Naturigin* was one of my most exciting finds this year, and I wrote about this natural hair dye here. When I swapped to using only natural products, I was worried that I may have to stop dying my hair, however I was thrilled to find this natural hair colour that is 100% ammonia free. I’ve tried two of their colours now (4.0 Brown and 3.0 Dark Coffee Brown) and both colours have given me an even and natural looking colour. My hair feels so healthy after using these dyes and they don’t have the awful chemical effects of normal dyes. I honestly can’t recommend this product enough if you are fed up with using conventional dyes.

The 100% Pure Brightening Cleanser is my absolute go-to cleanser at the moment, and I’ve noticed such an improvement in my skin since I started using this a couple of months ago. I love most of the products I’ve tried from 100% Pure and I’m excited to be bringing you some reviews of this brand in the New Year. This cleanser is fab at cleansing the skin as well as making it look naturally glowy and bright. I can thank this cleanser for all of the makeup-free days I’ve been having lately, as my skin just feels that good!

Lastly we have a product that isn’t natural per se,  but totally needs to be recognised…. my new Clarisonic Mia 2. I’ve only had this a month or so, but I’ve really fallen in love with it, and I’ve been using it every single day. I can’t recommend the Clarisonics enough and I can see why they have a bit of a cult like following. Plus it’s pink, so bonus points there 😉

Hey, I just wanted to say that I too am trying to shift to natural beauty products to get my toxin levels down a bit! It’s good to be able to read a NZ blog about it because I wouldn’t even know where to begin to look for good products! So thank you for that! 🙂 first purchase will be a new foundation/bb cream/cc cream, any recommendations? I don’t need a lot of coverage but my skin tone is quite pale so I struggle with especially if I was to order online!

Thanks for you comment, I’m so glad my blog can be of some help! 🙂 Personally I really love the RMS UnCover Up as a concealer/foundation. You can choose how much you apply for a lighter or heavier coverage. I’ve used this product as a full coverage foundation before, and sometimes I’ll just use a little amount if I have a little bit of redness. I use the shade 11 and I’m pretty pale too (I was a NW15-20 in MAC) and this shade works well for me as I have a bit of a yellow tint to my skin (it also works when I’m a little tanned too). There’s also two lighter colours 00 and 000 which are for light skin (00) and very light skin (000). If you’re near a Mecca Store you can pop in and they can help you find the right shade otherwise Googling swatches can be helpful 🙂 Alternatively if you like loose foundation powder, the Jane Iredale Amazing Base Loose Mineral Foundation is great. I wear the shade Bisque. Hopefully this helps! If there’s anything else I can help with just let me know 🙂

Thank you for that! I’ll probably give the RMS one a try! 🙂
