The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Foundation Brush

Just a quick post tonight, but I wanted to share with you this little gem that I came across at the Body Shop  quite a few months back now. I actually own two of these brushes because I love them so much and they are currently my go-to’s for applying mineral foundation

The Extra Virgin Mineral Foundation Brush is a lovely soft brush, with very dense bristles that offers an even finish. This brush was designed to be used with the Extra Virgin Mineral Foundation, and while I wouldn’t purchase that one (most TBS products are loaded with nasty chemicals!) I’ve found it works wonderfully with any safer powder foundation, whether loose or pressed.

Applying powder foundation is simple with this brush; simply swirl the brush in the powder foundation, tap off any excess, and buff the foundation into your skin in circular motions. Easy peasy.

The high density of the bristles, means that the product is picked up onto the brush easily. It is then dispensed on to the face evenly, and is super easy to blend out. It’s also lovely and soft, and unlike some brushes, it doesn’t feel scratchy upon the skin. I’ve washed both of these brushes multiple times now and I’ve never had a problem with any shedding. The brushes dry well, and while they take a little longer to dry than some other brushes I own, they’ve kept their shape really well.

If you don’t use powder foundation, then this brush also does a great job of blending in liquid foundation. After roughly applying the liquid foundation with a flat foundation brush, use this brush to buff the foundation into the skin. This gives your liquid foundation a more even finish and ensures it’s spread evenly across the face.

The Body Shop Extra Virgin Mineral Foundation Brush retails for $39.95. I’d definitely purchase another one of these! Have you tried any brushes from The Body Shop? Let me know below!

It’s the size of a normal kabuki, definitely big enough for applying powder foundation I think 🙂 x
