The Remington Argan Oil and Keratin Nourish Straightening Brush

Recently I was given the opportunity by Remington to try their brand new straightening brush. Now it’s no secret I am a huge fan of the Remington brand, their products are well made and are affordable, and are really easy to use. I own quite a few of their hair styling products now, as well as my beloved Remington Facial Cleansing Brush. When I got the opportunity to try the Argan Oil and Keratin Nourish Straightening Brush, I was thrilled. I’ve always wanted to try a straightening brush and I knew the Remington one would be good.

It’s so simple to use, and it takes under 30 seconds to heat up. There’s also variable heat setting between 150 – 230 degrees depending on how much heat is required to straighten your hair. The brush is really well designed, with the ceramic plates closely located near each other so that the heat is evenly distributed throughout the hair. Each of the ceramic bristles is infused with Argan Oil and Keratin which help to nourish and protect the hair, as well as adding shine. When you’re using heat on your hair regulary it can end up getting damaged, so while these ingredients won’t completely stop this damage, they will certainly help to reduce it.  The brush is so easy to hold in your hand, and the generous length of the swivel cord means that there’s no unnecessary tangling or any struggles to reach parts of your hair. The handle and back of the brush are also heat resistant, so there’s minimal risk of burning yourself (even if you’re clumsy like me!).

On my fairly straight but occasionally slightly kinky hair, this brush is absolutely perfect. A couple of strokes through my hair on the lowest heat setting, and I’m left with perfectly straight and beautifully shiny hair. I really love this brush as it doesn’t feel like the heat is damaging my hair, and my hair never gets too hot, yet it’s still straightened. I’ve also used this on my hair once it’s in soft curls/waves, and it still does a great job of straightening – I just bump the heat up a little bit. I’m really not sure how this would go with super curly hair- I feel like it might take quite a while to straighten your hair since the hair doesn’t seem to get quite as hot as it would do with a conventional straightener.

For me, this is the perfect straightening product as it gets the job done with minimal heat and minimal fuss. In about two minutes I’m done and ready to go, and I absolutely love that. If you have straight or wavy hair, I really couldn’t recommend this enough. Below is a little demo video giving you an idea of how big the brush is and how easy it is to use. Now I realise I have fairly straight hair anyway, but it really makes a difference especially on the shine it gives my hair! This video was filmed on the lowest setting and you can increase the heat depending on how much heat is required to straighten your hair.

The Remington  Argan Oil and Keratin Nourish Straightening Brush would be the perfect gift for someone this Xmas. These retail for $199.99 but I’ve seen them in stock at Briscoes (and we all know Briscoes loves a good sale, so you can often pick them up at 40% off!).

Please note: I was sent this product for consideration. These views are my personal opinion and are no way influenced by others. I always provide an honest opinion, so you all know which products are worth purchasing

This sounds pretty cool – would love to know how long it’s effective for? Surely the Argan Oil and Keratin can only last a certain number of uses?

Hi Meagan, I’ve just checked with the PR agent for Remington and they tell me that the infusion is designed to last for the life of the brush, which is pretty cool! x

My hair takes me like 45 minutes to straighten with my GHDs, I’d love to try this! Even the hairdresser takes at least half an hour because I have so much thick hair.

I’d love to see how this brush would work for you. I have fairly straight hair anyway and it does straighten fairly easily, so I really couldn’t comment on how it would work for thicker/harder to straighten hair. If you do end up trying it, let me know, I’d love to hear what you think! x
