Over the past month I’ve been trying out two of the newest additions to the Little Olive Tree skincare range – the body lotion and hand lotion. I was thrilled when I heard that Little Olive Tree were expanding into lotions, and even happier to hear that these are made using a safe Ecocert preservative, rather than the common phenoexyethanol. I’ve had awful hay fever lately, so I’ve been taking antihistamines to combat my allergies. As a result of this, my skin has been really really dry and I’m finding I need an ultra-hydrating moisturiser to help keep my skin in check. These products really couldn’t have come at a better time!
The Body Lotion comes in three scents – Lemongrass, Coconut and Lime, and Cranberry and Pomegranate. Of course, being a diehard Lemongrass fan, I had to choose this scent and I’m so happy I did, as it’s such a refreshing and invigorating scent as a body lotion. The body lotions come in a cute 200ml pump bottle, which makes dispensing the lotion a breeze. What I really love about this body lotion, is how light it feels on the skin. It’s the kind of lotion you can apply after your morning shower, and have your skin feel hydrated but not greasy when you get dressed. It absorbs super quickly which is great, and the delicate scent lingers on the skin for a couple of hours after application.
This body lotion is full of natural hydrating ingredients such as coconut oil (which my skin absolutely loves!), cocoa butter, and olive oil – all of which are extremely moisturising and are great for your skin. The Lemongrass scented lotion is crafted with natural essential oils, whereas the Cranberry and Pomegranate and Coconut and Lime scents are created with fragrance oils. If it was any other company, I could be a little iffy about using fragrance oils (as some can be contaminated with petroleum-based ingredients), however Little Olive Tree ensure that their fragrance oils are certified premium, so I feel completely safe using these on my skin.
