If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you might know that I am obsessed with silver jewellery. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been drawn to silver over gold, and I feel like it works with my skin tone so much better. Silver is also more hard wearing than gold can be, which is essential for pieces that are being worn everyday – especially rings! Silver rings are probably my favourite accessory, and I have a selection of around 16 different silver rings that I mix and match. It’s very rare a day goes by, where I’m at least wearing a few of these!
I recently came across the jewellery brand Midnight Silver Handmade and I was hooked. Midnight Silver Handmade is a Dunedin based company created by Kim Sculpher. Kim specialises in silver jewellery – and in particular rings and bracelets. All of the rings and bracelets are made from 925 sterling silver, which is the only silver I will wear as it doesn’t turn my skin green!
So lets talk rings. I absolutely love silver stacking rings, as they are so versatile to wear. Kim offers a range of rings in widths from 2.5mm to 10mm, with the 2.5mm rings being perfect for stacking. All of the rings are available in a range of finishes. I opted for 2 x 2.5mm stacker rings, with one as a polished finish and one with a hammered finish.
Each ring is custom made when you order, and Kim requires your exact ring size to ensure the rings fit. My rings fit perfectly, and stack beautifully. As well as dress rings, Midnight Silver Handmade also create gorgeous custom wedding rings. When I get married, I will totally be getting our wedding rings made by Kim!
These rings would make the most beautiful gift for someone (or a sneaky treat for yourself). I’m so impressed with the quality and finish of the rings, and I love that they are handmade locally here in Dunedin.
