The Love Knot War Winter collection came out a few weeks back, and I’m pretty sure it’s my favourite collection so far. Think snuggly merino and comfy slouchies. I got to pick out a few pieces from the collection to style on my blog and Instagram so I wanted to share what I got!
The first item I chose was the Olive Merino Frill Top. I love anything khaki or olive at the moment, and this top is such a beautiful shade. As someone who feels the cold a lot, 100% merino pieces are a must for me, and this is hands down one of the best quality merino pieces I own!
I think the ruffle detail on the shoulder is super cute too, and it makes the top a little more special. The ruffles also sit nice and flat if you are layering this under a jacket or coat, so that’s a bonus too!
The next piece I got was the Merino Frill Crew. This is similar to the Olive Frill Top, except that it has cuffed sleeves, and also a beautiful lace panel on the back. It’s also a bit thicker and the merino weight is 350gms – so it’s incredibly thick and warm! I love the details that have gone into this top, the lace and the frills and it makes the top really versatile in terms of wear. It’s definitely a top you could wear out on a winter night paired with jewellery, coated jeans/leather pants and heels, yet it also works perfectly as a more casual style too.
This piece also comes as a dress – and yes, it’s merino too!!
Both the Black and Olive Frill Tops are also really generous in length, so work well with leggings/fitted pants. I love wearing the ‘half tuck’ where the front part is tucked in and the back left out, I think this looks super cute and is how I wear most of my tops.
The last item I got were the Royal Slouchies. This is my first ever pair of Love Knot War Slouchies, and I can totally see why everyone raves about them! They are made from such a soft fabric and they are so incredibly comfy to wear! With an elastic waistband, dropped crotch, and fitted leg, the are extremely flattering and work well on pretty much everyone!
I think these pants are especially fab if you are on the shorter side as it can be so challenging to find pants that stop at the ankle. Since these are nicely fitted through the leg and calf, these sit beautifully!
The slouchies come in a whole range of prints, but I love these grey Royal ones with the pink and black crowns – so fun! The pockets are nice and deep which is a huge bonus too!
I know some people aren’t a fan of the drop crotch, but with pants like these you can change where you wear them. In these photos I’m wearing them a little higher, so the drop crotch is less. If you love the baggier look, simply wear them lower!
Fit notes: I am usually a size 6 in Love Knot War, and I have all three pieces in a size 6. The two tops are a perfect fit for me and are TTS. If you are larger in the bust or through the back/shoulders, you might want to size up. The pants are a perfect fit on me and are nicely fitted through the tummy and hips. I also love the length on my 163cm (5’3″) frame. If you were quite tall and wanted full length, you might want to size up – the elastic waist will allow this!
