Raw Kanvas: Canvas Mask & Purified Cleanser Review

Raw Kanvas Review: Purified Cleanser & Canvas Mask

Over the past two months I’ve been using a couple of new Raw Kanvas products in my skincare routine. You can read my previous reviews about this brand here, and I was excited to welcome these new babies into my routine. I am really picky about my skincare these days and also like to make a point to trial products for a while before I write up a new Raw Kanvas review, hence why this has take a while for me to do!

I’ll be honest, I never used to get that excited about skincare. It was just something I did, and I preferred makeup. Since I discovered Raw Kanvas, I actually look forward to my skincare routine. The products are a treat to use and smell incredible, and I love my morning and night time Raw Kanvas rituals.

RAW KANVAS REVIEW: CANVAS RESURFACING AHA & BHA MASK

I love masks – they would have to be one of my favourite skin care items to use. Up until I discovered this little gem, I had been using The Ordinary AHA & BHA mask – which isn’t natural. When I discovered that Raw Kanvas offered a natural option, I jumped at the chance to try it.

This mask is designed for a wide range of skin types and can even be used on sensitive skin. It’s a gentle resurfacing mask that chemically resurfaces the skin through the use of AHA’s and BHA’s which are naturally derived. This mask contains a range of of AHA and BHA’s  including:

  • Bilberry (lactic acid)
  • Sugar cane (glycolic acid)
  • Orange peel and lemon (citric acid)
  • Kakadu plum (Vitamin C)
  • White willow bark (salicylic acid)

These paired together are an effective and natural way to help reduce congestion and build up on the skin, gently exfoliate and clear pores, and encourage cell turnover and collagen production.

I use this mask every 2-3 days and regular use helps to keep my skin feeling smooth and congestion free. I try not to use it on the same days where I use my retinol, as combining retinol and acids can be a bit harsh on the skin (especially if you have sensitive skin). If I’m a bit short on time, I’ll wash my face in the morning, pop a layer of this on and let it work it’s magic while I’m in the shower. Once I’m done I’ll just wash it off – multitasking at it’s finest!

This mask comes in a 60ml jar and also comes with a brush to apply your mask. Again, a little goes a long way and you’ll get many applications from one jar as you only need a very thin amount all over your face. I’ve been using it on average twice a week for three months and I’m only halfway through the jar! You can buy this one online here, or from Farmers.

RAW KANVAS: PURIFIED PURIFYING CLEANSER

This cleanser would have to be one of the most popular Raw Kanvas products, with it literally selling out online and in some Farmers stores! After trying it out, I can totally see why. It’s a beautiful, light jelly cleanser that works to remove impurities from the skin, while keeping the skin hydrated and soft.

This cleanser is a one kind fits all, as it’s designed for all sorts of skin types – from oily to dry, sensitive to ageing. It’s a very gentle cleanser, yet I’ve found it extremely effective at removing makeup and dirt. I’ve started double cleansing and I’ve found this super effective at keeping my skin looking it’s best – the first cleanse removes any left over makeup and the second cleanse actually cleans the skin and removes dirt from the pores.

Like the other Raw Kanvas products, this cleanser has a beautiful soft floral smell. I always feel after using this one my skin feels really soft and fresh. I also like the fact you don’t have to use a tonne for an effective result. I use just two small pumps to clean my whole face, so a bottle does go quite a long way. Using this every morning, I managed to get just over three months from one bottle.

Each bottle is 100ml and it retails for $55, which lets be honest, is on the pricier side for a cleanser. You can get a discount if you buy more than two items on the Raw Kanvas website. I really did like this one, but I’m unsure if I’d repurchase. While I don’t mind paying a bit more for specialised products, cleansers are generally quite similar, and there are a number of more affordable and just as effective options. At this stage, I won’t likely repurchase.
