The tunic dress has to be one of the most versatile and easiest dress styles to wear. The options are endless with these ones, and they are also super on trend right now. Whether you prefer something a little more simple, like a plain black number, or a boho delight of wild and colourful patterns – there literally is something to suit everyone. I also love them for this time of the year as they can be layered with a merino underneath, or pop a denim or leather jacket over the top for those cooler days!

In this post I’m styling the Adela Eternity Mini Dress which is quite possibly, one of my favourite dresses I’ve come across this year. This one is available at Salty Crush, and this print is also available in other styles, or these other tunic dress are exactly the same style in a different print.

I’ve had so many comments on this dress! I love that it has a black base with coloured floral which makes it perfect tones for slightly cooler months (or if you are a mum and tend to opt for darker colours with sticky little fingers around!). The style is beautiful and flowy, and the neckline can be tied up for a more modest approach, or left open and paired with a cute bralette. The sleeves are 3/4 and have an elasticated cuff, so can be worn down or pulled up for a puffy sleeve effect.

So how can you style  tunic dress? Here’s three ways I’ve been styling this one lately.

A gorgeous Spring and Summer styling option is to pair this dress with a cute pair of mules (I love these ones), and a trusty fedora hat. I get so many comments about this hat and it was literally $12 from Kmart – so keep your eyes out!

Tunic dresses can also be made to look like oversize blouses which is one of the reasons I LOVE this style of dress. When I spotted this print, I was really hoping for a blouse in the same print, but none came out, however I found it super easy to just tuck the ends in to the waistband of my jeans and pull the rest of of the fabric out, making it look oversized. I think this is a super cute and fun way to wear this dress, and no one would ever know that it’s really a dress!

The third way is to wear as a tunic and pair with black skinnies, ponte pants, or leggings. This is a great way to get the most out of your dresses and continue to wear them into the cooler months too. Simply layer a singlet and merino under, a denim jacket over, boots, and a fedora and you are good to go!

Fit tips: I am wearing a size XS in this dress and am usually a size 6. It’s an oversized style, so this would easily fit a size 6-8 or even a small 10 depending on how you wanted it to fit. For a tunic, the length is generous (to just above knee length) and it can be easily worn without tights on (I’m 163cm or 5’3″)
