Foxglow Perfume Review

Over the past six months I’ve really gotten into perfume again. Once I started trying to use more natural beauty products, I ended up tossing out a lot of my normal spray perfumes. I struggled for years to find a more natural perfume and tried so many, but none of them were really “me”. A lot of natural perfumes are quite musky and earthy smelling, which really isn’t my thing, and I found many of them never stayed on the skin that long.

Fast forward to about six months ago and I discovered Foxglow Perfumes. This NZ company create beautiful roll-on perfumes inspired by popular scents such as YSL, Marc Jacobs, Viktor & Rolf, and more. Their perfumes are made from 100% perfume oils, which are uncut and contain no nasties such as parabens, phthalates, additives or GMO’s. These perfumes are also gluten free and contain no alcohol, making them a safer option for those with sensitive skin or allergies. They are a much more natural and skin-safe alternative to your regular store bought perfume.

Foxglow have grown their range even in the short time that I’ve been using their perfumes, and now have a number of staple scents, as well as a few special scents that they create in collaboration with bloggers or Instagrammers. I’m also thrilled to now be one of their brand ambassadors! I’m super picky about the brands I choose to work with, however since I’ve been using and loving the Foxglow perfumes for so long now, I leapt at the chance! Being a brand ambassador also means I can give you a code to get a sneaky 10% off – just use the code SARAHLILLY

I thought I’d share my current three favourite scents.

FOXGLOW ADDICT

This perfume is based on the YSL Black Opium, and it smells pretty much identical. In fact, after smelling Black Opium again a few weeks ago, I actually prefer the Foxglow version. This is my go-to scent and it’s that beautiful mix of floral and coffee, that can be worn both day and night. I’ll be honest, I’m terrible at describing scent so here’s what Foxglow say about this one.

“This addictive favourite consists of notes of coffee, present in large quantities which dominate the scent. Along with accords of pink pepper, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla, patchouli and cedar that finishes the scent off with a floral touch.” – Foxglow

Out of all of the scents, I think Addict is my favourite and when you smell it you’ll know why! This scent also comes in a body butter which can be applied before the perfume for extra longevity. It also comes in an EDP spray which I’m dying to try, but it sells out super fast so you have to be quick! Check out Foxglows Instagram to find out when it restocks.

FOXGLOW PURSUIT

Pursuit is inspired by Bonbon by Viktor & Rolf which is a hugely popular scent (and also quite pricy!) Foxglow’s adaptation of this one is so similar, and smells of delicate florals with hints of fruit. This is a super fun perfume, and it’s one I enjoy wearing during the day and into the evening.

This pleasure and self indulgence consists of key note caramel, surrounded by mandarin, orange and peach on the top, flowers of orange blossom and jasmine in the heart, and cedar, guaiac wood, sandalwood and amber in the base.” – Foxglow

FOXGLOW SERENITY

Serenity is inspired by Marc Jacobs Daisy, which was another of my favourites before I stopped wearing regular perfume. It’s a lovely light and fresh scent, that inspires youth and fun. It’s one of my favourites to wear during the day, and probably my favourite summer scent.

Sadly this one isn’t currently available online to purchase, however I did ask Foxglow and they said it will likely be coming back! When this one does makes it’s return, I’ll be buying a couple as I think it will sell out pretty quickly!

“This sparkly floral-woody fragrance caresses with fruity strawberry notes, intensive green aroma of violet leaf and sparkling spicy pink grapefruit. Its heart is composed of gardenia, delicate violet and jasmine. Ending with a powdery soft touch of white woods, vanilla and musk” – Foxglow

I honestly can’t recommend these perfumes more. They are so easy to use – the roll on application makes the perfume super easy to apply without wastage. They are also compact and fit perfectly in your purse or clutch for touchups on the go. They are also super affordable at only $25 per scent. On average for use everyday, one of these bottles would last around 3 months.
