The Ordinary Caffeine Solution Review

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution

Okay so one of the most popular posts on my blog is my quick rundown on The Ordinary products. This brand is hugely popular due to it’s insanely low prices for such powerful and effective skincare. I’ve been using a number of The Ordinary products for sometime now, including The Ordinary Caffeine Solution, so I figured it was well as truely time for a full, in-depth review of how I’m finding this one.

If you haven’t heard of The Ordinary, then please check this brand out! A couple of years back it quickly took the beauty world by storm, as the formulations included high-potency effective ingredients, but at a fraction of the cost of other brands. The Ordinary sell a huge range of specialised skincare including a range of acids and other targeted anti-ageing products. I have a number of their products that I use in my daily skincare and I have to say I’m super impressed. For the price point, these products easily rival much more expensive brands. Their whole philosophy is that effective beauty products don’t need to cost the earth, and they absolutely nail this.

One of my favourite Ordinary products is the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. This is an eye serum which contains both high quantities of caffeine and highly-purified epigallocatechin gallatyl glucoside (EGCG) which is sourced from green tea leaves. These two ingredients together help to stimulate the skin and reduce puffiness and dark circles around the eye area.

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution

As you guys know I’m always a bit sceptical on eye creams. I don’t really get dark circles often (unless I’m super tired), but I am making an effort to apply eye cream more regularly, especially now that I’m in my 30’s (gulp). This Caffeine Solution is a super light eye serum which you simply pop a couple of drops on to your fingers and massage in around the eye contour. A little goes a long way, and I’ve been working on this bottle for well over a year using it once a day! It’s non-sticky, dries quickly, and doesn’t mess up your makeup so is my go-to eye cream for the morning time.

If I’m tired and my eyes are looking a bit puffy, this is my absolute go to. Immediately after application, I can actually see a visible result in how my eyes look and I actually do look more awake. I generally use this one most mornings and find the more I use it, the better my under eye area looks. I really cannot fault this product, and for the price it’s a must-have!

While The Ordinary isn’t natural, their products rate pretty well on the EWG scale, with this one being a 1! (1 being best, 10 being most chemical-laden) This product is paraben free, sulfate free, and phthalates free, as well as also being vegan too, and the chemicals it does contain are not considered to be harmful.

This one retails for around $15 NZD and in my opinion is worth every cent! Grab yours here.
